2/24: The Artistic Voice in Political Theater

Sunday, February 24, 2008

4:00pm to 6:00pm

Location: History Theatre, 30 E. 10th Street, St. Paul - map

Third salon in the 2007-08 Rimon Artists Salon Series

Tickets: Free (immediately follows the matinee performance of Parade)

Co-hosted by the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, this salon looks at how artistically satisfying theater can be created out of political events. Discussion will be led by critic William Randall Beard and Peter Rothstein, director of MJTC’s production of Parade. This Tony-winning musical is based on a murder trial, set in 1913 Atlanta, plagued by racism, press sensationalism and politics.
