Power Paragliding in Sauk Rapids—yee haw!

Donna wanted to soar into 40...so I took her power paragliding!

Leon and the boys fire up a trike.
Hearing a sound that I would have defined simply as LOUD, they determined that the vehicle needed a fix.
Meanwhile, Donna's dog Juju (with bow) and Paracruiser pup Bootie (did I hear that right?) made friends.
Awww.....
Leon takes Donna to the "field of dreams."
Laying out the chute....
Helmeting the passenger....
When you sit in front, you get a better view. And you get to steer!
Getting strapped in is just like when a carney belts you into the Tilt-a-Whirl...except this is no county fair.
Juju begs to go up in the air!
One more adjustment to the motor....
Donna's ready to go. "I'm ready, too!" says Juju.
It'll be a bright, bright, sunshiney day-ay-ay.... A dog day afternoon? Everyday's a para-day? Okay, I'll stop now.
When the dog's are cool with it, you know it's safe. They've got a sixth sense about these things!
And they're off! The chute fills with air as the go-cart picks up speed.
What goes up...had better stay up for the duration of the flight!
Wheels lifting....
"Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang...!"
I'm no better at guessing how high they are in this picture than I am at guessing how far my golf ball is from the pin.
They've got to be upwards of 40 feet in the air, given the height of the trees.
