by Stacey Dinner-Levin
“Autistic License is a docu-drama, a true-to-life play that takes audiences on the roller-coaster ride of raising a child with autism. It’s a sometimes exhausting, sometimes exhilarating, frequently terrifying trip that informs, enlightens and entertains. Dinner-Levin knows her material cold and delivers it with unflinching honesty.” ~St Paul Pioneer Press
Recently nominated for the Theater Critics New Play Award and named one of the 10 Best Plays of 2007, you certainly won’t want to miss this incredible play, even if you don’t know anyone on the autism spectrum.

Sheldon Epp’s smash hit musical Blues in the Night features smoldering blues music by legendary artists Benny Goodman, Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington and many others. This all-star cast has strong Penumbra roots including director Austene Van (Black Nativity, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Blue, Zooman and the Sign) and actors Jamecia Bennett (Black Nativity, Get Ready), Regina Marie Williams (REDSHIRTS, Dinah Was), plus jazz greats Debbie Duncan and Julius C. Collins III.
A coded manuscript—possibly the lost source material for Shakespeare’s Othello and Romeo & Juliet—hurls Constance Ledbelly head over heels into the two plays, turning each from tragedy to comedy. Twists, fights, dances, seductions and wild surprises!
